It all brewed, quite literally, out of Dana‘s own penchant for natural aides to combat his yearly bouts of bronchitis and allergies. The traditional base: a mixture of apple cider vinegar and honey, are both thought to have healing properties. Of course, it had to taste better. And it needed to be more potent too, so Dana tinkered for years to get it just right. Oranges, lemons, onions, garlic, ginger root, horseradish, turmeric, habanero peppers and the final blending step of raw wildflower honey were added, and the recipe was perfected. In 2010, their friends at Alchemy Initiative invited Dana and his wife Amy to sell their Fire Cider at a holiday festival. To their new business’s surprise, they soon sold out! Business was booming, so Amy’s brother hopped onboard to help create the logo and help spread the word. And lo and behold, Fire Cider was born. Drink up!
