The ah-ha moment came for William at a friend’s art studio. He was using ink blocks to print something one by one with his bare hands. Mesmerized by the process, William decided then and there to go hunting for a letterpress. He got his hands on a Pearl#14, which has a large, cast iron flywheel, hence the name. (But if you guess that he had a child-like affinity for the Big Wheel tricycle, you’d also be correct.) They developed their own unique style of printmaking, often drawing on old-school expressions that seem fitting for their vintage typefaces.
