It’s not surprising that Colby’s jewelry designs are inspired by nature, as she’s surrounded by it in her small Colorado mountain town. A short hike from her home crosses paths with rushing rivers, green forests and leafy trees. All of these environments are represented in her work, her rings, bracelets and necklaces designed to look like the water-smoothed pebbles, long willow leaves and branched twigs she encounters. Each tiny texture is hand carved from wax to create a mold and the final designs are cast in sterling silver or gold, to create wearable pieces of nature, with details that look just like its inspiration.
