At age 7, Creek took apart her first stereo; at 9, she deconstructed a pocket watch—in both cases she was too fascinated with the beautiful parts to put them back together again. See, her father was a dentist (and, ahem, amateur jeweler) turned inventor, so she spent her childhood playing among the gadgets and sawdust in his workshop. After college she moved to her family homeland, the Netherlands, returning two years later with a box of antique artifacts, which would figure prominently into Compass Rose, her line of cufflinks and jewelry fashioned from vintage treasures.
