Eric & Sherri personalize stemware and rocks glass with incredibly detailed engravings that have a “popping off the glass” quality that’ll make you do a double-double take. No, these engraved pieces most definitely do not come from the kiosk at the mall. In fact there’s no comparison between Eric’s technique of sandcarving, in which a design is made on top of a panel or oval making it look like it’s almost raised from the glass, and the more ubiquitous engraving or laser etching techniques. Eric found his craft after receiving a wine bottle for a gift that used the sand carving technique—then spent the better part of 10 years perfecting the methods used on Crystal Imagery. And perfect he did. The, ahem, House of Representatives commissioned them to make a commemorative crystal dish for the 2013 Presidential Inauguration.
