For Kellie Ketron, handmaker and mastermind behind Dapper Geek, her ties are her babies. She lovingly scouts the fabrics, many of them recycled (sometimes from a granny’s retired curtains), irons, sews, irons some more, then finishes each and every one by hand. Upon completion, her admiration for her creation is nothing short of a proud braggart parent. The irony of this tie-maker is that you’ll find her anywhere but a board room, usually hiking or camping, in fact. You’ll see elements of nature woven into her expressive designs, many of which were inspired by or completed in the woods, desert, beach or mountains. In other words, these ties love to hang loose.
