Eric Carroll developed a love for sculpture at the Wichita State University School of Art. After graduation, Eric began building custom work for businesses across the country. On a trip to Arizona, he discovered the beauty of the Saguaro and returned to Kansas with a drive to recreate the cactus from steel. Eric's business partner and father-in-law, Richard Turner, spent most of his career as a successful businessman, but welded as a hobby and creative outlet. In late 2003, the pair founded Desert Steel. Organic shapes are individually fabricated and finished with a verdigris patina for lifelike color, some fitted with torches, bird feeders, or left hollow to add an otherworldly glow to your garden.
