Jacklyn’s obsession with leather was the long simmering, years-in-the-making kind. She grew up sewing, and even worked as a fashion designer, but there was just something about leather that led her back to the material, time and again. Many visits to the leather shop, plenty of self-teaching and hours of chats with other leather craftsmen later, she created her first successful piece. That item took days and several by-hand processes to complete—much longer than machine sewing. Even so, she was completely enamored with the process and now has an entire line of functional and creatively designed bags, made start to finish by her alone.
