As an author with five children, who were eagerly awaiting the castles and moats that were sure to come with a successful book, Elizabeth turned to metalworking. She spent time twisting, hammering and forcing the metal to do exactly what she wanted. It was cathartic. And she was good at it, too. Her favorite handmade piece? The Traveling Bracelet. With different metals wound together, it was a way for Elizabeth to remind herself to just keep going as life took unexpected turns with the adoption of her daughter from Ethiopia. It's meant to comfort, and to share. And like all her pieces, it's meaningful.
