Music is the thread that runs through all that Casey and Mark do, from their inspiration and brand design to their favorite social cause — supporting the preservation of music programs in schools. It’s the 1960s and 70s-era tunes that they’re most inspired by, the freethinking, folk rock musicians that informed their tagline, “Life is Short. Play it Loud.” To create their designs, Mark and Casey sit down with a few of their favorite classic albums, maybe a beer or two, and soak in the revolutionary lyrics. Infused into their seemingly simple designs is the spirit of songs from that era, with small details paying homage to rock ‘n’ roll: carefully labeled knobs, a pair of drumsticks as a decorative element, slightly distressed printing.
