Growing up in the hills of western Appalachia, Faryn endlessly wandered among tobacco fields, apple orchards and dirt roads—collecting leaves, nests, moss and bugs for her collection. After studying art in North Carolina, France, Italy and Nepal, she continues to collect “small powerful things,” which often find their way into her resin jewelry. Thick, poured layers of resin encase real objects and miniature paintings to create dreamy scenes that have an otherwordly 3-D quality to them.
