As a kid, Channon loved to take bits of gadgetry apart and see how they worked. As an adult, he’s more into putting things together. He bases the design of each of his unique lamps off of two things – the look of the bottle being repurposed and the type of wood base that will best complement it. Sometimes, he’ll stare at his collection of raw materials for hours without feeling that electric spark of inspiration. But once he’s felt the zap, an awesome glass, wood and brass statement piece is never far away. Although the individual objects that make up Channon’s inventions are inherently nostalgia-laden, they combine to form lighting that’s surprisingly industrial and modern or, as Channon would say, “repurposed with purpose.” Fluorescent lights, move aside.
