Ellen takes inspiration from her surroundings, past and present. She grew up spending all sorts of time outdoors in Michigan, went to college in the Southwest and currently loves just about anything to do with the ocean. So when she's creating art, whether it's oil based or watercolor, Ellen uses the things in life that inspire her (quite often: plants and animals). The process is a long one, as she likes to take the time to focus on every detail of her work, large or small, but when it's finally finished, the end result is a beautiful reflection of the natural world.
