The team at Firelight takes their coffee pretty seriously. So seriously, in fact, that the process begins with the origin of the beans. Todd and Ryan work with suppliers and farmers in very precise regions to source the coffee beans, each one selected with flavor profiles, growing methods and farm location in mind. Then comes the scientific part. Each coffee bean is best enhanced with a certain roasting method, and several hours of testing (and yes, taste testing) are involved in determining precisely how each batch will be roasted. When you receive a bag of the freshly-roasted stuff, it’s not just your run of the mill coffee. It’s a drinkable labor of love.
