Angie’s biggest inspiration is the vast, arid desert landscape. The desert was her backyard while growing up, and the washed out hues, sun-bleached shapes and unique transformations of living things in the harsh climate fascinated her then and still do now. Each of her pendants, rings and bracelets start with a flash of inspiration and a sketch on paper. Angie recreates these drawings in three-dimensions, out of wire. Much careful sawing, curving and soldering later, a precise composition emerges. The open shapes play on the differences of positive and negative space, and some even resemble those delicate skeletons (of animals long gone) one might find exploring in the desert.
