Since 2013, Garner Blue has been hand dyeing indigo textiles and accessories to wear and to decorate at home. Working out of her home studio in west Tennessee, Lou uses natural indigo for its sublime shade. Her patterns are based on modern shibori methods, as well as a stencil + rice paste resist method -- utilizing everything from river rocks and wooden blocks to cassette tapes and laser-cut forms to create patterns on natural fibers. “All of my hand-dyed indigo textiles and accessories are made for the love of indigo, a hankering for worn denim, a wash of the sea and marbled clouds and a mix of gravity and levity mirrored in a hue so deep it's forever fixed in the folds.”
