In response to mass produced, factory made furniture, Aaron and Kurt focus on craftsmanship and infusing creativity into details in their work, using the same hand tools as generations past. For the duo, building furniture is an opportunity to go back to local. Each piece uses local lumber, either from a nearby mill, or reclaimed from a variety of sources—home renovations, fallen trees, old barns and fence posts are all fair game. No piece is too small to recycle, the smaller off-cuts making their way into mosaics. All of their woodwork is carefully pieced, creating works of art in the process.
