Among the many things we appreciate about Tiffany: she likes torches, as in wands used to apply extreme heat. The moment that metal melts under the fire and turns into an entirely different entity fascinates this jeweler of richly textured pieces. She first got hooked on the craft when she went into a bead shop and picked up a pair of round-nosed pliers. They just felt right in her hand. (I guess you could say that she’s graduated to more heavy machinery since.) She’s all about playing with different types of metal—pounded, flattened or with a rich, textured patina. See, Tiffany believes that jewelry is a way to travel the world, to connect with different cultures, places and times. While we all have different values, she thinks that need to adorn ourselves is a common thread. We’ll torch to that.
