Hyun is drawn to subtle beauty, and her dainty jewelry pieces reflect her minimalist aesthetic. As she assembles every earring and necklace, she’s incorporating the visual inspiration from her days spent downtown gazing at wares in shops, appreciating street art and wandering museums. Guided by the images and textures she soaks up, Hyun’s process is organic, and she allows the materials to guide the finished pieces, working with shapes and textures to fit them together like a puzzle. Jewelrymaking is a different area for her to creatively explore, since she is a graphic designer by trade, where she gets to work with beads and metal to create art with physical materials instead of pixels.
