Rachna, Monika and Ruchika are three travel companions we definitely like to have: The software engineer-turned-dreamer, the environmentalist and the “conscious creator” textile designer. The three daughters of a diplomat, they spent years travelling and experiencing cultures around the world. Their respective skills are all put to use with their shared business, ICHCHA, which means “wish” in Hindi. They travel to far-flung, rural regions of India, making friends and working with them to produce handmade goods that keep traditions alive. In one day they might take five modes of transportation to get to a village where a special fabric is made— and all of this translates into a one-of-a-kind touch on every one of their pieces. You might remember this next time you’re on a family road trip.
