Love of woodcut + masterful printshop experience + a degree in graphic design + love of savaging old type and folklore = two people who, with their combined skills, make for one very impressive team. Sara and Bobby’s unique yet nostalgic take on letterpress design is one that, because of their background and painstakingly nostalgic process, really stands out. Just A Jar is one of the only letterpress shops around still making posters the old fashioned way; each color of every print is meticulously carved and printed from woodblocks, type set by hand from lead and wood type (some which date back over a century) and prints are made on manual presses. In other words, saying that everything that this team does is old-fashioned and handmade is an understatement to the umpth degree.
