Before creating her line of hair accessories, Alena could be found with paintbrushes or pens sticking out of her bun. Her long, heavy mane just didn’t play nice with the clips and pins out on the market—her hair would slip out, or they would break, or they just didn’t look how she wanted. So she really had no choice but to make her own. Her minimalist designs are formed from wire and hammered by hand and tumbled for extra strength. She uses the ancient technique of chasing in her craft, and sticks to traditional non-toxic methods, so that the process and the final product avoid the use of chemicals as much as possible.
