When someone tells you to chase your dream, they usually don’t mean it literally—like to the other side of the world and back. But Kemi did that anyway. After attending the University of Delaware for Apparel Design, she got a job with the Australian fashion icon Willow, moving there learn under her tutelage. After wandering the globe for a year, she decided to stray from clothing and pursue another passion that was stirring: jewelry making. Perhaps it was all the colorful markets and ancient handiwork she witnessed, but the line she came up with was intricate and detailed, but had a raw, unfinished element—a certain character that can only come from a gritty year of getting lost in the world while hunting down a dream.
