Koren went to school for graphic design but it was metalsmithing that really made her heart melt with its ancient tools, exacting processes and dusty studios. It seemed like an ideal way to combine her keen interests in art, design and hand craft. Since her schooling, she’s moved around a lot, changing jobs and changing hairstyles along the way, but jewelry making has always been a kind of “home” for her, whether she’s working with metal, stone, enamel or wood. Koren likes to refer to her finished pieces as “modern, graphic, wearable art.” Since art galleries aren’t exactly portable, she strives to create accessories that will remind their wearers of inspiration, exploration and the awesomeness that is artistic expression.
