The all-too-perfect, polished look of commercial jewelry never interested Krista. Hoping to make something different from run-of-the-mill jewelry store fare, she delved into the fascinating (and ancient) process of metal casting –– first up, handmade bracelets. Each primitive bracelet she makes is designed using a microcrystalline wax model, which is then molded and poured in metal. Once it’s set, she finishes the piece with a nice rub down to achieve a polished finish. But her eye for precision doesn’t end there – Krista even wears each bracelet herself to ensure complete comfort for the wearer.
