Vasula is wild about textures, and before she gets started with any new project, she spends plenty of time at the yarn store, feeling all the yarn and imagining how the material will translate in feel. Her wares range in tactile experience from bristly and bumpy to sturdy and firm and even warm and fuzzy, and since they’re all made with just two hands and a crochet hook, materials matter. Each crocheted object begins as an idea, evolves a bit as she tests the design, and usually turns out even better than intended. Better still, since she can’t work if she’s feeling negative, each one is infused with positivity—a little bit of yarn happiness, if you will.
