Lots of us would kill for an amazing city view from our place, but Karen’s got one in her mind. Seriously, she’s been creating indie greeting cards for over 20 years, making her one of the original makers out there, but it wasn’t until she moved to Chicago’s Gold Coast that she became skyline obsessed. It takes a lot of mental energy and stamina to create skyline art because of the extensive research. Once she’s found the right view and recreated the notable buildings in great detail, she prints her city-lovin’ cards in a bright, modern palettes using an old school recycled paper that has a slight texture—the same paper that Hallmark originally used back in the ‘50s.
