A mom, pop and daughter team, Missy, Chris and Madison create their rustic wood signs in a combined effort. Starting on the computer, every sign begins as a digital graphic. Missy and Maddie work together to determine sayings, select fonts and finalize layouts before transferring the sign artwork to a precision-cut stencil. Then they begin applying paint to wood, first stenciling the design, and then repainting over it freehand. Then Chris joins them in the wood workshop, and each sign is distressed and aged before framing. The process gives the chance for the family to spend time together and showcase their separate talents, each one taking part in a sign’s creation with their own hands.
