Michael is a web designer-turned-ceramics slinger working largely out of a carport-turned-studio. After so much time in the tech world, he’s now known in the potting world for being practically tech-less. Thought it’s hard to tell from many of the perfect curves he’s achieved, Michael crafts everything he sells by hand – no wheel-thrown pieces to speak of. Using little more than slabs of clay, some master molds and his own two hands, Michael’s objective is to make sculptural pieces with soul. They’re pieces that he would (and often does) use in his own home. Even in this soul-fueled, mud-molding biz, however, he hasn’t completely abandoned his techie roots. He’s a bit of a social media butterfly – so you better be ready to tag him every time you ’gram that gorgeous new air plant garden of yours.
