Seasoned in the traditional art of moving metal, Pat still makes his wares the old fashioned way. Each blade starts as a plain ol’ piece of steel of the high carbon variety, and is heated over hot coals. Once heated red hot, each blade is hammered and formed into a sharp shape and branded with the forge’s anvil emblem. Since the knives are made with high carbon steel, versus stainless, it’s much more durable and can take a sharper edge. Last, but not at all least, each blade is custom fitted with a wooden handle and protective sheath—then they’re ready for a new lifetime of adventure, a modern heirloom in the making.
