The reason Kimberly went into the jewelry design business to begin with is simple: pure function. She couldn’t find the things she wanted to wear that were nickel free and friendly to her allergy-reacting skin (a jewelry lover’s nightmare!) But she didn’t want just any safe jewelry that wouldn’t cause an itch, but also a little different. “Sometimes, it can be challenging to re-work a design to fit its need and purpose,” Kimberly admits, “but that iterative process allows for it to become more than a random pretty design....” It becomes a pretty design that is also thoughtful and intentional. They’re meant to be touched, they mimic natural shapes and organic textures. And most of all, they stand out in a crowd. After all, as Kimberly would put it, “I rather things be interesting than just beautiful.”
