Waste not, create more. This could most definitely be Alyssa’s design mantra. After graduating from FIDM, she went to work for design companies in LA and was shocked by the amount of fabric scraps that went to waste. That’s when her inner designer merged with her inner environmentalist and an (LED) lightbulb went off. Alyssa began salvaging these fabric remnants, upcycling them into bespoke scarves. Piecing together the unpredictable shapes, sizes and patterns can be a challenging puzzle, but that’s where creative genius comes in. She blends hand and machine sewing techniques with braids and knots, giving each piece unique character. Like a box of chocolates, she never knows what she’s going to get. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
