Filled with colorful subjects, Jude’s work may be minimalist at first glance, but each piece is complex in execution. His art is made with the pochoir print technique, which employs multiple layers of paint and stencils to create the final composition. As each color must be printed separately, Jude sketches every design first on paper and traces it onto mylar to make stencils. The substrate is cut by hand to create separate stencils for each color, and each clockface is printed one layer of paint at a time using the stencils for crisp outlines and colors that pop against one another.
