In recent years, the Rockies have been covered in damaged pine trees, destroyed by an infestation of beetles. Seeing an opportunity through the bleak landscape, Corbin decided to use the affected lumber exclusively in his furniture designs. Besides being streaked with bluish grey, the wood was suitable for normal use, and rather than letting the resource go to waste (or worse, turn into kindling for forest fires), he embraced the unique material. His understated, minimal designs center around the blueish wood, the natural characteristics of the pine the shining star of each piece, with careful craftsmanship and attention to detail as the supporting roles.
