Meghann is a real life traveling gypsy, with a vintage caravan as her darkroom. The darkroom is a repurposed ‘50s travel trailer, gutted and rebuilt as a photo studio and lab. She roams the Pacific Northwest with her antique large format camera, developing each tintype in her traveling darkroom. The process she uses dates back to the 1850s, requiring patience to hand mix chemicals, willingness to experiment, as well as a darkroom nearby to develop images right away. That caravan isn’t just for show—it’s integral to successfully capture images with the wet plate collodion process.
