Steeped in the American traditions of the Old West, intrepid explorers of the outdoors and rebellious outlaws of every era, Steven and Jacquelyn's felted hats are familiar in that they echo shapes worn throughout history. Using the traditional techniques of hatmaking, each brimmed wonder starts as flat angora felt, which is steamed, painstakingly stretched and blocked over antique wood blocks to shape. Once sculpted to spec and dried, the brim of each hat is then cut by hand and the crown is folded, pinched or left round before adding a leather band. The end products of this meticulous process are wearable, imaginative headwear, every hat entirely American.
