Men's Alameda Oyster Pirates T-Shirt
The word pirate might evoke the image of eye patches, skulls and crossbones and chests of gold, but in California history it's quite a different story, as told on this vintage-styled tee. The screenprinted design is an ode to the late 19th century practice of oyster farming in the San Francisco bay, and the public’s opposition of the practice. Often considered local folk heroes, the Oyster pirates would raid the shallow beds at night and sell their take at market the next morning.
